St Kilda’s The Prince has welcomed Mitch Orr as meals and artistic director for its restaurant Prince Eating Room.
Orr is understood for his work at Kiln at Sydney’s Ace Resort (house to the famed Jatz cracker appetiser), and as one of many forces behind the now-closed Italian-Asian eatery Acme.
In his new function, Orr is about to take Prince Eating room in a brand new culinary path with a brand new menu set to launch within the coming weeks.
“Melbourne has top-of-the-line meals scenes in Australia, and I can’t wait to be part of the historical past of such an iconic venue,” says Orr.
“I’m excited to carry my meals to St Kilda and to grow to be part of not solely the unbelievable area people, however the wider Melbourne restaurant group.”
Orr will likely be joined by newly appointed Head Chef Ben Parkinson who comes from roles at Albert Park’s Pipi’s and Sydney’s Monopole.
“I’m very excited and looking out ahead to becoming a member of Mitch and the crew at Prince Eating Room and to play a job in a brand new chapter for a Melbourne establishment,” says Parkinson.
The Prince is a multi-venue institution and is house to Prince Eating Room, Prince Resort, The Little Prince wine bar, stay music stage Prince Bandroom, and occasions area Prince Deck.
Prince Eating Room will formally reopen to the general public on Sunday 27 April with bookings now open.
