A CALMING WAVE OF FRENCH COASTAL CUISINE COMES TO CHILTERN STREET


Melody Adams, the restaurateur behind Lurra and Donostia, redefines French meals with Maset  

Maset opens its doorways this November, inviting Londoners to dive into French coastal delicacies from the Occitania area. Set on the buzzy, refined Chiltern Road, Maset brings French meals with a contemporary distinction. Providing a lighter, brighter model of cooking, synonymous with the area and gently influenced by North Africa, Italy and Spain.

The menu presents a definite change from conventional French eating places, reflecting Melody’s time spent within the Occitan area and celebrating seasonality and British locality. Dishes unfold over 5 sections: Merenda, to begin, les plats, sides and desserts, menu highlights embrace:

       Bouillabaisse croquettas – Maset’s tackle the well-known Marseille dish.

       Pâtes au Pistou – gentle and contemporary spinach linguine, made every day, with a regional basil-based sauce, typical of Good.

       Monkfish – entire tail, marinated in preserved lemons, cooked on the bone and served sliced, with a lardo veil and sea beets.

       Camargue rice – nutty entire rice from the salt flats south of Arles the place the flamingos reside, blended with capers, olives, seasonal herbs – and dressed with fruity olive oil and verjus.

       Preserved Lemon Martini and wines are sourced primarily from small vineyards in France, Italy and Spain curated to be totally different from the standard wines.
