US: Populus Motels is about to open its second carbon-positive property in america this spring, because it prepares to launch in Seattle within the metropolis’s historic Pioneer Sq. district.
Populous Seattle has been developed by Denver-based actual property growth and property administration firm City Villages and shall be operated by the Chicago-based Aparium Lodge Group.
The 120-room lodge occupies a restored 1907 constructing, previously generally known as the Westland Constructing, and marks the primary adaptive reuse challenge by Populus Motels. The model debuted in 2024 with Populus Denver.
The interiors characteristic preserved Douglas Fir beams, uncovered brick, and over 300 commissioned artworks created onsite.
The property shall be carbon constructive, that means it offsets extra carbon than it emits over its full lifecycle. Design methods included retaining the unique construction, eliminating plans for an onsite parking storage, and sourcing 100 per cent renewable electrical energy.
The lodge will even plant a tree for each night time stayed, as a part of Populus’ ongoing “One Night time, One Tree” initiative.
Facilities at Populus Seattle will embody a café, assembly rooms, an all-day restaurant known as Salt Harvest, and Pioneer Sq.’s first rooftop bar.
